Charvillat is a partly renovated original farm in the Auvergne district dated from 1860 on a 6600 m² estate,extremely private and peaceful. It is situated on the border of the district (hameau) Charvillat at a distince of 3 km from St-Gervais d'Auvergne.
The large courtyard is enclosed by a bakery (fournil), a large barn (grange) and 2 dwellings with connecting barn extensions. One of the properties has been renovated into a beautiful cottage .
The farm is situated 698 m. above sea level with an exclusive view from the courtyard.
The property sleeps up to 4 people (maybe 5)


Access is via a large kitchen with an authentic double sink, a 4 ring oven (bottled gas),
refrigerator,coffee making machine,
electric kettle, micro-wave and kitchen units.
There is an electric boiler for the hot water supply.
Ample kitchen utensils, cutlery, crochery, glasses ect. are supplied for 5 people.
The bathrome is situated off the kitchen with bath, shower, washbasin and washing machine.
The wc is located to the rear of the bathrome.


In the livingroom there is an authentic beamed ceiling and a large fireplace ('chéminée') with a wood stove (fuel is available).
The 2 bedrooms on the upper level are accessed by a wooden stairway and landing.
In the brown room there is a double bed and a large wardrobe (cot available).
In the blue room there are 2 single beds and a wardrobe (a Z bed is also available).
Heating is installed in each room.


The area is very peaceful and tranquil. The large courtyard is ideal as a playarea for children.
Within walking distance you wil find a bird observation post from where you have a wonderful view of the area including Mont Dôme and the Mont Dôre district. Within a distance of approx 5 km is a large hydro electric dam
(Fades des Besserves) with the highest railway bridge in Europe.
St-Gervais d'Auvergne is 3 km away. Here there are 3 bakers, 2 butchers, 2 small supermarkets, 1 chemist, a few restaurants and hotels, a post office and 2 banks, 1 with a cash dispencer.
Every monday morning there is a small market.
Included in the rent is 6 KW electricity a day and fuel for the wood stove.
Mobile telephone signals are unrestricted and clear.


A Dutch family, who lives in St-Gervais and speaks English, will guide you during your vacation.
    Domestic animals are welcome.
